The partnership formalises a working relationship between both organisations with the aim of developing industry qualifications, courses, learning materials and other appropriate areas in order to help raise skills and standards across the plumbing and heating industry in England and Wales.
Both organisations are not-for-profit and led by employers. BPEC (British Plumbing Employers Council) supports those who work within the Building Services Engineering sector to increase their knowledge and skills through providing qualifications, assessments and learning materials via a network of colleges, private training centres and industry stakeholders.
APHC (Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors) is the leading membership body for plumbing and heating contractors in England and Wales and provides technical and business support to its members, whilst representing the needs of the wider industry through working with government and regulatory bodies.
John Thompson, CEO of APHC commented: “I’m delighted that APHC has entered into this agreement as we recognise BPEC as a quality Awarding Organisation and Certification Body for the plumbing and heating industry. I’m looking forward to working closely with Paul and his team in the development and implementation of plumbing and heating qualifications, courses and assessments.”
Paul Johnson, CEO of BPEC added: “APHC is the leading plumbing and heating association for England and Wales, I know that together both organisations can make a significant contribution in raising industry standards through the development of qualifications, learning materials, the new Plumbing and Heating Trailblazer Apprenticeship as well as encouraging engineers once they have successfully completed their qualifications and apprenticeships to continue improving their skills throughout their career.”
