Spirotech unveils SpiroCombi MB3 two-in-one air and dirt separator

Spirotech has announced the imminent introduction of the SpiroCombi MB3, the latest addition to its wide range of ‘two-in-one’ combined air and dirt separators.

The SpiroCombi MB3 has been developed to provide engineers and installers with a flexible alternative water conditioning solution for domestic heating and cooling systems. 

The SpiroCombi MB3 can be fitted on either the flow or return depending on the location, age and condition of the system.

Available from merchants later this month, it will give installers the option of fitting a combined unit when normally only a dirt separator is fitted.

A survey has revealed that Britain’s plumbers are the happiest professionals in the country. In fact, 55% of plumbers said they were ‘very happy’ in life.

It seems tradespeople are way ahead in the happiness index because builders were next on 38%.

The survey was commissioned by Boundless, an experiences company with a 94-year heritage.

UK tradespeople struggle to recruit due to a lack of focus on training

The UK’s plumbers, electricians, builders, carpenters and other trades are optimistic about the future, with 82% expecting business activity to remain at the same level or grow over the next 12 months, additionally, nearly half (45%) report being busier than last year.  However, research conducted by trade retailer, Plumbfix’s umbrella organisation, Screwfix, has revealed the majority (57%) are reporting difficulties in recruiting staff to support them.  This is primarily due to:

The Dorset Business Awards took place on Thursday November 23 at the Bournemouth International Centre to celebrate the cream of Dorset’s business achievements. The Family Business Award category was sponsored by PKF Francis Clark, with other finalists being Harts of Stur in Sturminster Newton and Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth.

 

Superior is a family-owned business which was founded in 1972 by Terrence Brown. The first ‘transfer injection’ presses were introduced to create o-rings in house, which remains one of the core strengths of the business today.

 

Check vans now to avoid new London T-Charge, and plan ahead for 2019 ULEZ charge, expert warns

Plumbers working in Central London were warned today to check if their vans are liable for the new T-Charge – and to prepare now for the upcoming Ultra Low-Emission Zone (ULEZ) coming into effect on 8 April 2019. 

 

The warning comes from commercial vehicle rental specialist Enterprise Flex-E-Rent. It advises that these charges could cost businesses hundreds, even thousands, of pounds if they own older vehicles and drive them into the capital.
