The AA’s guide to boilers and central heating systems to help keep you warm over the coming winter months.
All over the country central heating is being turned on as the nights grow longer and the days get colder. For many people, turning on the heating signals the arrival of winter, and they’ll relish the feeling of being warm and cosy inside, whilst the X Factor counts us down to Christmas. For some though, this can be a time of stress – imagine turning on your shower in the morning to be met with a jet of cold water.
It’s an important time of year to make sure your boiler is working properly, and the more knowledge you have, even if it’s basic, may even save you from calling out an engineer and help cut down expenses around Christmas. It’s useful to know which issues you can fix yourself, as well as how to spot potential issues, and troubleshoot your heating if it isn’t working properly.
To help with all of this, including tips on how to keep your heating costs down, The AA have released the ‘Big Boiler Handbook’ a free eBook which covers everything from boiler care, to tips on temperature timings, thermostats, and more. The e-book also covers information around radiator maintenance, as well as explaining all you need to know about the different types of boilers, so you’re armed with all the information you need on maintaining your heating when you need it most.
