Darlington-based M.a.f Plumbing, Heating & Gas Services is targeting expansion and job creation as it celebrates its fifth year in business. Mark Fryer, owner of M.a.f, is hoping to recruit at least two gas technicians within the next 12 months after developing the company over the last five years.
Mr Fryer, 39, has been involved in the Heating & Plumbing trade since a young age as his father was a plumber.
He previously served in the Royal Logistic Corps of the Armed Forces for more than 16 years, which included tours of Afghanistan and Northern Ireland, obtaining the rank of Sergeant, before training to become a gas technician.
The business, which is Gas Safe registered and an accredited Worcester and Baxi Installer, has developed over the years to deliver a range of Heating & Plumbing solutions, including boiler installations and all plumbing, heating and gas services.
M.a.f recently became OFTEC approved for the installation and maintenance of oil fired appliances and oil storage tanks, having received the accreditation to deliver these services. It is also able to offer finance packages to customers through Ideal4Finance.
Mark said: “I have enjoyed a successful five years in business and I am now in a position where I want to assemble a team of professional technicians, so I can focus on developing M.a.f further. Plumbing has always been in my family and I learnt a lot from my Dad, who was a skilled tradesperson for many years.
“Having spent so many years in the army, it was quite the career change, but I had always wanted to work for myself. I have been fortunate enough to develop professionally in the Heating & Plumbing trade to create a sustainable company, supporting people in the North East with our range of services and finance packages.
“I am now hoping to kick on with my expansion and growth plans, while also supporting jobs in the area.”
M.a.f serves homes and businesses throughout Tees Valley, Durham, Catterick, Richmond, Teesdale and all surrounding areas.
