Exclusively available from specialist distributer Grange Design, the new Black Steel Collection by MGS is a design first, being the only black collection for the bathroom designed and made from stainless steel.
Stainless steel is of course a positive move away from the standard chrome plated brass tap found in the UK. Unlike plated or traditionally ‘enamelled’ black taps, these new MGS finishes ensure the surface of the tap will not wear away to reveal its raw material - perfect for modern living. 100% lead free, stainless steel is easy to clean as it naturally creates a resistance against bacteria to provide a non-porous and extremely hygienic surface.
This newly refined industrial Black Steel finish is achieved through vapour deposition (PVD) in which the colour penetrates the metal by molecular bonding rather than covering it. This results in a smooth, durable, matt black finish that is consistent throughout every component in each design.
The key benefit of PVD Technology is its improved resilience, strengthening the surface of the material by up to 3 to 5 times. PVD is a far harder and far more corrosion resistant finish than normal electroplating processes and has a better impact strength as well as excellent abrasion resistance. PVD is also environmentally friendly when compared by traditional coating processes such as electroplating and painting.
Presenting a curvaceous design that will enhance any luxury bathroom; the new MB282 is a low set deck-mounted design. Featuring a distinct arc spout with hidden aerator complete with 90˚ rotation, the new MB282 offers a deep projection of 180mm and is supplied with high flow rate ¾” valves which are independently controlled by precision cut, machined knurled handles, making the MB282 both beautiful and practical at the same time. The new SO612 in Black Stainless Steel presents a simple and very elegant design with soothing rain effect spray. This wall-mounted model features a distinct tubular spout which offers a generous projection of 500mm. The SO612 Black Steel Tubular Shower head by MGS is priced at £1,573 including VAT.
The new MB439 Thermostatic Valve and AC920 Hand Shower with flexible hose in Black Steel controls both the water temperature and flow from a single feed, the MB349 valve is framed by a rectangular base plate with two round handles which are stacked vertically and feature high precision knurling for a secure grip. The MB439 Black Steel Thermostatic Valve by MGS is priced from £536 and the AC920 Black Steel Shower System is £315, both including vat.
