Pumps Mean Points For Installers

SALAMANDER Pumps is promoting its latest incentive scheme which rewards installers who choose pumps from its wide range of brass, shower-specific whole-house and mains boosting pumps.

The loyalty scheme is part of Salamander’s long term commitment to developing a two-way partnership between itself and installers, which includes training, support and a technical advice helpline.

It forms part of Salamander’s ‘Added Benefits’ campaign, which launched in January and is designed to cement its position as the ‘plumber’s partner’ and a manufacturer which listens to feedback and puts the installer at the heart of everything it does.

Top tips on how boiler and heating engineers can increase their business

Top tips on how boiler and heating engineers can increase their business while boosting customer satisfaction levels at the same time.

According to recent data by telephone answering service provider CALLCARE, it had revealed that the majority of calls (30%) made to utility providers and boiler engineers in winter are to do with chasing for an update or making repeat calls to report the same incident.

This is a two-fold problem that could be seriously affecting the customer satisfaction of these businesses. Existing customers will be becoming more annoyed that they should continuously chase up engineers about the same problem leading to some dissatisfied customers. With this problem, engineers are potentially missing out on new business because they are dealing with so many repeat calls.

APHC urges plumbing and heating businesses to check the rateable value of their business premises

APHC urges plumbing and heating businesses to check the rateable value of their business premises

Plumbing and heating businesses should check the new draft rateable value of their business premises ahead of the business rate revaluation, says APHC.

John Thompson CEO of APHC, a leading membership organisation for English and Welsh plumbing and heating businesses, said: “The last business rates revaluation was in 2010 and was based on 2008 property values. The next business rates revaluation comes into effect on April 1 this year and reassesses all business property in England and Wales based on the rateable values as of April 1, 2015.”

Checking the new rateable value will give business rate payers time to plan for any changes or to appeal against the new rateable value.
