2019 marks 30 years since Telford Cylinders was established by owner Neville Leonard & his partners including Richard Wightwick. Still owned and run by the Leonard family, and with Richard Wightwick still on board, Telford Copper & Stainless Cylinders has continued to grow and is now the largest UK-owned cylinder manufacturer.
The factory occupies the same site in Shropshire but has expanded significantly over the last 3 decades to become a state-of-the-art facility, employing over 100 members of staff and producing market leading hot water storage products, including the flagship range of Tempest unvented cylinders.
The success of the business has been built on pride, professionalism, competence and a firm commitment to manufacturing products that have become familiar and trusted brands within the industry. Always underpinned with a family ethic, customer service is at the heart of the business’ values and is why we have such a loyal and satisfied customer base.
Driving innovation since 1989.
Telford have always looked beyond the ordinary. Starting life manufacturing Kitemarked, British Standard copper cylinders, Neville and his team have never stood still. Unvented and renewable cylinders, calorifiers, innovative thermal store and High Gain units have all been developed in-house and whilst we are able to produce in large quantities, we have never lost sight of our commitment to each and every customer, offering a bespoke service for any requirement.
Significant investment across the company in recent years, enables us to operate using the latest hi-tech machinery for outstanding results. Fully ISO accredited, all staff are constantly trained and checked to ensure we meet the highest possible standards. Our R&D team continue to work on and develop new products to keep Telford at the forefront of hot water storage.
The Tornado Cylinder.
Our unvented cylinders now include the Tornado 3.0. Based on our hugely popular Tempest - but with internal thermal expansion - the Tornado is already proving to be a successful and competitively priced alternative to its competitors. We see a big future for our new cylinder based on very positive feedback from installers.
The Future.
Despite economic uncertainty, Telford have grown consistently for the last few years and we see no reason for this not to continue. We will strive, as always, to support our customers with competitive pricing, robust support and reliable service. The investment continues in all areas – production, marketing, staff – and we are growing revenue in new sectors which will strengthen our position.
We are focussed on and ready for the next few years. The company is vibrant and excited about what lies ahead, and we celebrate our 30th birthday with a huge thank you to all our customers, without whom this wouldnot have been possible.
