When your livelihood depends on your van, you need to be familiar with any new driving laws. In this article, I’ll be outlining the main changes you need to know for 2019.

Smart motorway closures

Smart motorways are designed to adapt to conditions on the road as they happen, warning drivers of speed limits or hazards. But, some drivers are still ignoring the warnings, driving on closed lanes and causing danger to broken down vehicles and recovery teams. If you’re caught driving your van through one of these lanes, you could face a fine of up to £100 and three points on your licence. 

Graham Plumbers’ Merchant recently surprised one loyal customer – naming him as the winner of Graham’s Give a Truck prize draw. Andrew Crookes from Bristol was the lucky name chosen from the thousands of entries to scoop the brand new Nissan Navara.

Andrew Crookes, of P&N Property Solutions based in Keynsham, was drawn from the thousands of qualifying purchases and was presented with the prize at his local branch in Bristol during the Graham Customer F1rst Tour.

“I thought they were having a joke at first! I can’t quite believe it,” Andrew said after being told he had won. “The timing of this is amazing, I’ve been looking at a pickup as my next vehicle for a while now, so to be handed the keys to the new Navara is fantastic.
