Salamander Pumps EVE Launch

Salamander Pumps EVE Launch

In an industry-first move, Salamander Pumps, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of domestic water pumps, has announced the launch of EVE - a new, twin-ended, universal shower pump featuring a variable bar rating, which can be changed with just the touch of a button.

The first of its kind, EVE uses a sensor to monitor the system water flow and detect any changes, while a brushless motor varies its speed to ensure a constant pressure, no matter how many outlets in the home are open at any one time.

Launched in response to the increasing popularity of high-end bathroom refurbishments, EVE is the first pump on the market to fit into both positive and negative head situations, without the need for a pressure vessel and working with any gravity-fed system.

Salamander Pumps was previously awarded the Quiet Mark Award of Distinction at the awards ceremony in 2017 for its outstanding commitment in pioneering new noise reduction solutions in the industry, which saw Salamander slash its noise levels of its new range of shower pumps by 15%.

All hands to the pump! The top considerations for installing a shower pump…

Salamander Pumps

To help train the next generation of plumbers, Kenneth Vance, training manager at Salamander Pumps, took to New Durham College to demonstrate how to successfully install a shower pump. Here, he gives us his top tips from the day…

Check the pump’s suitability

There are two types of shower pumps – positive heads and negative (universal) heads, but knowing which one is best for the job, and the differences between the two, is crucial when choosing the correct shower pump. In cases where any point in the system after the pump, such as outlet pipework, shower heads or taps goes within 600mm of the base of the cold water tank or above, a negative head (universal) pump would be the best option.

Pump manufacturer Salamander Pumps has teamed up with a specialist consultancy and machining company to further engineer out the noise in its brass pumps and achieve noise ratings from as low as 48 dB, as part of a long term aim to achieve Quiet Mark status across the whole range.

Salamander’s CT Force range of brass, shower-specific and whole-house pumps, available in both positive and negative head, are designed to help householders with kitchen and bathroom water pressure problems.

Pumps Mean Points For Installers

SALAMANDER Pumps is promoting its latest incentive scheme which rewards installers who choose pumps from its wide range of brass, shower-specific whole-house and mains boosting pumps.

The loyalty scheme is part of Salamander’s long term commitment to developing a two-way partnership between itself and installers, which includes training, support and a technical advice helpline.

It forms part of Salamander’s ‘Added Benefits’ campaign, which launched in January and is designed to cement its position as the ‘plumber’s partner’ and a manufacturer which listens to feedback and puts the installer at the heart of everything it does.
