Vaillant UK has emerged as the top commercial heating employer in the country, according to a recent report.
The study, conducted by specialist recruiters Thornhvac, questioned sales engineers currently working in the industry about which manufacturers they perceived to be the best employers. Vaillant gained 23% of the vote to beat 29 other companies to the top spot, with one respondent even describing it as a “company that really cares for its employees and treats them as part of the family”.
Commercial heating engineers were also questioned on what they thought made a good HVAC employer. 73% felt that the best companies to work for were those with the best products; 65% said a good service and technical support; 56% a strong brand; 39% product availability; and 28% said good management. Vaillant also topped the list for quality products with 21% of the vote.
Neil Partridge, HR Director at Vaillant UK, discusses the findings:
“In the last ten years Vaillant Commercial Systems has firmly cemented its place as market leader for wall-hung commercial boilers in the UK. There is no doubt that this could not have been achieved without our team of skilled, dedicated employees which has expanded over time to accommodate our growth.
“We are Investors in People and recognise how crucial our workers are to the success of our business and, as such, we have processes in place to encourage job satisfaction and create a fulfilling career path for every person we employ. Behind our successful growth story is a team that is focused providing the customer with end-to-end solutions, supporting great products and taking ownership for each job, which is what makes us unique. ”
The report also examined what engineers thought made the ‘best’ heating products. The results found that quality (85%) was the main factor, along with good value (52%), energy efficiency (45%) and innovation (44%).
John Bailey, Sales Director – Commercial & Renewable Systems at Vaillant UK comments:
“Advancements in heat exchanger technology have made it possible for us to produce higher output, wall-hung boilers, putting Vaillant firmly at the forefront of the wall-hung boiler revolution.
“Industry trends increasingly require manufacturers to become more heavily involved in the customer specification process and end to end journey, including servicing and maintenance of the products they manufacture. What makes us attractive to customers is the fact we employ a dedicated service division of skilled, full-time employees rather than using agents.
“We also take a “whole system” approach rather than manufacturing boilers in isolation meaning the boiler and related components such as the flue, rigs, low loss plates, heat exchangers, filters and controls are all taken into account and we firmly believe this is what has made us market leader.”
